When was the last time you sat down and assessed all of the things you do daily or weekly that have become habit?
The stops to get coffee - the trip to the gym - the mindless letting the dog out - the turning on of the TV at night..
All of the things that have become a part of your life that you may not be sure anymore if it is actually something you want to do or experience daily. Or at least, not in this way.
When did we start believing that the word ‘routine’ became a part of our lives?
As if there is a set of check boxes for each day that needs to be checked.
Routine to wake up, brush teeth, have breakfast, hit the gym, workout for 45mins +, work, home, dinner, take trash out, let dog out, feed dog.
Tell me if this above sounded robotic to you.
If it did, let’s dive in.
Routine has become a word of power - and for good reason.

But routine sounds like a list of tasks waiting to be completed.
What if, instead, we claimed ritual.
The ritual of enjoying your coffee in silence in the morning.
The ritual of choosing to go workout.
The ritual of watching your dog in the snow when you let him outside.
The ritual of sitting down to choose one amazing show to watch - now and then.
The ritual of living the moments that you need to have anyway.
When did we start living in a life that needed to be placed into a list?
A list of things we need to do.
