Do you ever have a lot going on and feel as if you are suddenly flooded?
Where you wonder, what happened to change my flow from last week or last month to this?
Where things are piling up, where issues are arising, and you feel yourself in the center of it unsure what your next step needs to be.
Unsure of how to handle the current craziness, because you yourself have been shaken with anxiety of too much to do.
Remember: when we trust, we can coast through this.
When we know that it is happening to us, for us.
When we recognize it is a point in time that’s passing, a lesson to be learnt, an emotion or a situation that is not permanent - one we can grow from. We can then recognize it as a passing situation or kerfuffle and not an ongoing issue.
And yes, it is important to step into the emotions and really feel into why things are so up in the air and unorganized or busy or unsettled - but it isn’t necessary to stay there.
It isn’t necessary to dwell on the craziness of the moment.
It is necessary to do what you need to do to recognize what is important and what isn’t.. what is pressing and real now and what isn’t.
It is necessary to get to know what helps you in moments of business.
Christmas is upon us - and there are so many things that we need to check off on our own individual task lists.
But just like last year, I want to remind you that this time of year is for being.
Being with family, being immersed in holiday, being captured by the spirit of Christmas all around you.
Being in love.
When we take time to organize ourselves and re-arrange how we are perceiving the things ahead this month, we can move into enjoyment rather than anxiety or stress.
Put down things on paper that need to get done.
Choose a day or half day a week to tackle these items.
And since it is written, you can allow it to float from your mind.
And come back to stillness, to the moment, to the recognition of the magic of this month.
To come back to the Christmas spirit, and the holiday moments..
Take the extra moment to look around your home at your tree and Christmas decorations.
Take the extra moments to look at a homeless person and consider giving them some change or some healthy food.
Take the extra moment to breathe in the cold air (but not too long!!!! eeeeek) to embrace this very real and beautiful change of the season.
Take the extra energy to recognize the gifts in your life at this time - the love you have within your heart & all around you.
When we take these perspectives and moments into our own inner peaceful recognition, and into moments of gratitude.. things get easier.
It will be easier to get the things done you need to this month, because you are happy and grounded and appreciative of everything you’re within.
Perspective changes everything.
And when we realize that we can in fact change our minds, we can live from a place of abundance over this holiday (and into the future), and not from a place of lack and neeeeeding to get things checked off.
Enjoy the Christmas shop.
Enjoy folding your winter clothes after you have done the laundry and they are fresh and clean.
Enjoy the drive to your family 1hr away by appreciating the company you’re in or will be in.
Enjoy the fact that you have things to do. That you have people to buy things for. That you have loved ones who want to spend time with you.
That you are alive and LIVING. And experiencing some of the most humbling and heart-felt times of the year.
The Holiday Season.
So when you feel the overwhelm creep up, or the craziness that this season can bring - ease into it.
Come to gratitude and to reflection.
What is your why of why you are doing the things you’re doing?
Gifts for loved ones, charity work for the community, dinners with business partners.
Where is your head at? What is in your heart?
Appreciation, gratitude, love, opportunity, compassion.
And immerse back out there in LOVE of what you are blessed to be doing and feeling this month.
Know that the anxious moments WILL pass, and that there is always love to lean into.
There is always love at Christmastime.
