We are so good at planning out the things we want to happen, or the things we think are going to happen.
When we take that job, we look to succeed, to make it farther in the company, to get this next position.
When we enter into an agreement, we do it to align goals, to plan for the future, to have success.
When we decide to spend time with someone, we do it to get to know them more, to find success in that relationship.
But what about the things that totally change the trajectory of the plans?
The new job offer. The change of heart. The new exciting gift that was given to you that you must see through.
We do not set out to find the unexpected.
Because it’s just that - unexpected.
And usually the better unexpected things come to you in moments that you are fully in alignment with yourself. Being aware, understanding and comforting your needs.
The moments you are truly listening to yourself, your soul, your interests.
And when the unexpected happens, sometimes we don’t know what to do with it because it wasn’t in our plans.
But instead of being too stiff and structured, lean into the possibility that this thing is meant to bring you farther.
It’s meant to stretch you more, and to expand your heart and your capacity.
It’s there as a lesson - to discover if it’s actually meant for you - and if you are going to show up to meet the opportunity.
So how do you know it’s meant to be?
Well - feel into it deeply.
Feel into how your body reacts when you think of the opportunity of outcome of this gift.
Does your body feel calm? Does it feel love? Does it feel like this new idea is truly supporting what your goals are?
Then try it. Jump in.
Allow the world to gift you the unexpected and for you to have fun with it.
